In our garden we have a huge buddleia. Buddleia are meant to be shrubs. But ours is allowed to stretch its branches to the sky and so it’s quite the attraction for butterflies. In particular, peacock butterflies.

Butterflies are regarded as a symbol of transformation, and this year has certainly felt like a transformative year! Whilst the pandemic has transformed the globe around us, I also felt a significant transformation inside me. In my soul. So this year, as my son and I watched the butterflies enjoy the buddleia this year, I couldn’t not create this design.

In the Soulful Transformation Cowl I have created a large peacock butterfly design, bordered with pointed stems of buddleia flowers, and arrows. These three patterns are brought together in this cowl, designed to show off the beauty of hand dyed yarns.
